CLASS SCHEDULES
Saturdays 12:30pm-2:00pm
Janaury 9th-August 21st
FALL RECITAL September 11th 2010
Many of you might be wondering why this name? Why not something cooler or normal? But that's not what Im about, Im about being different, but this camp is not about me, its beyond me. My friend Michelle gave me the idea of starting my own dance school, I questioned the idea and then prayed about, and agreed to give it a try.
In 2007 I had my first 7 week dance camp, it was awesome. I only had two students at the time, Dajah M. Olive and Hannah John. I had two beautiful young ladies come in to assist me, Debbie Baptiste and Alesia Williams. I taught praise dance, Debbie taught ballet and Alesia did African with my only adult student, Rowena Gordon and her nieces Bianca, Shorena and Sharece (those 3 volunteered their time). Dancce Camp started off as a four day camp, Monday-Thursday. After the full 7weeks we I had our very 1st recital. The support was great.
After the 2007 recital I began an adult dance camp on Monday nights. I started working fulltime, so I had classes on Saturdays for children. These classes are for an hour and 1/2.
$15 per Session for 7 weeks. $10 Registration.
I run the dance camp, every 3 months. Jan-Feb/May-July/Sept-Nov. So far its a success. I mean every small business starts off slow, but I am advertising as best as I can, I know I could be doing more, but now that I have my very own site, I believe things will get better!
The name was chosen (not by Luther Vandross' hit song "Dance With My Father") but its the way I feel when I dance. I feel as if Im dancing with God the Father, my heavenly Father, I feel as if although there's an audience infront of me, he's the one getting all the attention, Im doing it for him, for his glory, if I ever mess up or forget a move, it doesnt matter, because, I'm dancing with the Father, the one who looks beyond my faults and sees my needs, the one whose there when I fall to pick me up.
The students that I have, are learning how to dance with the father, each session, they gain a better understanding of what this camp is about. Its life changing. If you or someone you know want to learn how to praise dance (a form of worship to God) then please Contact Me and I'll be sure to sign you up!
